We are looking for a Lead Health and Safety Advisor to be at the forefront of our mission to create a safer workplace at Tata Steel UK.
In this pivotal role, you'll lead a dedicated team and work closely with our operational and functional leaders to develop and implement strategies that aim for zero harm in our high:hazard environment.

What you will do
Your day:to:day responsibilities will include managing and enhancing our health and safety systems, ensuring we not only meet but exceed legal, corporate, and business standards. Youll support the Health and Safety Manager in creating and executing site:specific improvement programs, supervise health and safety advisors, and handle the reporting and management of hazards, incidents, and actions.
Communication will be key in your role as you disseminate vital health and safety information through team briefings, meetings, and training sessions. Youll also play a crucial part in incident investigations, providing insights and recommendations, and lead various health and safety improvement projects.
As the Lead Health and Safety Advisor you will organize document control, conduct regular inspections and audits, and promote our behavioural standards to enhance safety awareness and practices across the board.
What you will need
To thrive in this role, youll need to be an effective organizer with exceptional communication and influencing skills, along with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
A solid understanding of health and safety processes and legislation relevant to manufacturing environments is essential. This includes expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, competence management, contractor management, incident investigation, performance measurement, and audit and review.
Familiarity with structured Health and Safety Management Systems like ISO 45001 is required, as is proficiency with standard MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).
You must hold a NEBOSH General Certificate, with a NEBOSH Diploma being highly desirable.
