This role is vital in maintaining an uninterrupted flow of materials to the manufacturing teams, ensuring stock levels are accurate, and playing a key role in both inbound and outbound logistics operations. The Stores Operator/Driver plays a key part in maintaining the organisation’s operational efficiency, safety standards, and overall supply chain effectiveness, while also supporting wider business activities and upholding high standards of workplace health and safety. Responsibilities The scope of the Stores Person/Driver role includes the receipt, storage, pick/pack/dispatch and management of goods and materials within the company’s inventory system, as well as the safe and timely transportation of these materials to various locations, both on and off-site. This role encompasses unloading and loading of vehicles, maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring the organisation of outbound shipments and deliveries and upkeeping housekeeping to 5S standards. Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with multiple departments across the business. Receipting of goods and putting away into storage locations Unloading/loading vehicles of various sizes Updating and maintaining accurate stock figures onto MRP system General picking and packing duties Moving materials from stores to the production line Organising outbound shipping utilising various logistics suppliers Completing inventory stock counts and being involved in stock takes Transferring deliveries and materials using companies own fleet to various locations both on and off-site Raising purchase orders for material shortages and resources Liaising with various departments including procurement and project managers Working to teams KPI’s to control processes and key materials Housekeeping on-site locations including deep storage sites Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner. When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training. Perform other related duties as required About You Qualifications Essential A full UK driving licence Desirable C1 Drivers Licence, training can be provided Skills and competencies Good communication skills. Excellent organisational skills. General PC literacy and competent in creating and maintaining MS Excel spreadsheets. Following both written and verbal work instructions.
