National Account Executive
Job Purpose
Working as part of the Sales – Trade Team, and reporting to the Senior National Account Manager, you will support our Garden Centres, Builders Merchants, and Jewson customers. The primary function of the National Account Executive role is to support the wider Sales – Trade team in all areas with a view to maintaining and growing the customer base.
Working hours are 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with primarily office-based working.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Daily tasks in support of the Senior National Account Manager as well as the wider team
2. Dealing with all day-to-day enquiries from our customer base, escalating to the SNAM as required/appropriate
3. Proactively seeking to grow business through targeted sales activity of our bronze customers
4. Working closely with the Marketing Department to ensure all products are listed online correctly in line with customer requirements, with appropriate imagery and content
5. Maintenance of price books to ensure up to date pricing strategy is adhered to, and invoice queries are minimised
6. Working with the Customer Services Department to ensure queries and complaints are appropriately followed up and a satisfactory resolution is reached
7. Maintain regular contact, as appropriate with customer via video conferencing, telephone, and email
8. Analyse relevant data and proactively engaging with customers both by telephone and video conferencing
9. Participate in internal sales meeting
10. Support the wider team at annual shows
11. Any other duties as reasonably assigned by the Company, appropriate with the role
Skills, abilities, and behaviours:
1. Good negotiation and influencing skills
2. Keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all areas
3. Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, with a particular focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
4. Confident and competent to deliver presentations, internally and externally
5. Previous Sales and/or Marketing experience desirable but not essential
6. Proactive and determined individual who thrives on working at pace, with an appetite to achieve targets
7. Skilled at planning and organising workload to ensure the prompt and effective completion of tasks
8. Maintain and observe a high degree of professionalism, always ensuring confidentiality
9. Willingness to travel to meet customers; driving license is essential
