To take responsibility for the smooth running of the department in the absence of the Cardiac Clinical Physiologist Manager. To continuously support the development of a multi-skilled support team, in light of national shortages. To lead in providing training programs and teaching skills for junior physiologists.
To continuously update professional skills with new technology and services, thus maintaining high service standards.
To provide service audits and actively participate in the demand and capacity process mapping to provide effectively generated services.
To support departmental research as required.

Job description
Job responsibilities
* Perform and record comprehensive Echocardiogram studies on patients.
* Provide technical support for pacemaker implants to patients in theatre labs, including complex pacemaker testing and procedure documentation.
* Advance Life Support trained, with regular updates.
* Provide technical support for invasive transesophageal echo (TOE) insertion.
* Participate in stress echo studies, instructing patients and providing monitoring services.
* Perform ECG, exercise stress testing, and reporting.
* Develop a structured professional body of Cardiac Physiologists emphasizing multi-skill development.
* Order supplies and negotiate competitive prices.
Management and work planning:
To manage own work, staff, departmental services, and patient care autonomously, liaising with clinicians and directorate managers as required.
To adhere to the Trust's Disciplinary Policies.
Person Specification
Essential
* BSc in cardiac physiology.
* BSE accredited.
* 3 years of experience post-accreditation.
Desirable
* DSE, pacing experience.
