Sustainability Manager.
Salary: £45,000 per annum.
Location: Remote.
Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week. (flexible working options are available).

A bit about the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Action for Children as a Sustainability Manager. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will have responsibility for strategically developing, delivering, and bolstering a sustainability strategy that drives environmental and social responsibility across Action for Children, achieved through organisational change and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
How you'll help to create brighter futures by
* Developing and implementing a comprehensive sustainability strategy and plan to accurately account for and reduce our carbon emissions.
* Creating and managing systems for tracking and collecting data on direct and indirect environmental impacts from the organisation's activities.
* Implementing effective Scope 1, 2 and 3 matrices and data collection processes.
* Continuously assessing the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risk to Action for Children.
* Leading the integration of sustainable practices into daily operations.
* Establishing relationships with external partners, governmental agencies, and non-government organisations.
* Regularly reporting on evolving sustainability trends, policies, and technologies.
* Providing the Executive Leadership Team with key performance indicators and setting targets related to sustainability goals.
Let's talk about you
* Qualification in a relevant field such as environmental science (or equivalent experience).
* Knowledge and understanding of environmental and sustainability best practices, especially within the Public/3rd sector.
* Experience in designing and setting up systems and processes for managing strategic programmes including carbon accounting.
* Proven history of implementing strategy to reduce Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions.
* Ability to influence a diverse range of individuals.
* Proficient at analysing data and using this data to establish effective solutions.
* Experience in designing and delivering effective training programmes, as well as providing guidance and mentorship to individuals or teams.
* Sustainable supply chain/procurement experience would be an advantage.
