Crowdfunder is looking for a talented, purpose-driven, and collaborative Senior Developer to play a key role in shaping the future of our platform. As part of a small, fast-paced team, you’ll work on meaningful projects that empower people and communities to create positive change. The role This is a dynamic role that blends technical expertise and creative problem-solving. You’ll contribute to building and improving our platform, driving innovative solutions that support Crowdfunder’s mission. From developing new features to optimising existing systems, your work will enable people to turn their ideas into reality on the Crowdfunder platform. Key Responsibilities Build new features to ensure a seamless user experience on the Crowdfunder platform Collaborate with the team to define, ideate, and deliver product enhancements Maintain, improve and optimise the current system, creating structure and scalable solutions Taking a leading role in development sprints and helping to keep us on track with the roadmap Share knowledge and foster a culture of collaboration and learning in the development team About You You’re a full-stack developer with solid experience in small or startup teams, and you thrive in fast-paced environments. You’re skilled at balancing the need to solve today’s challenges with long-term goals, and have a big picture mindset. While you’re comfortable with ambiguity, you’re driven to create structure and identify and address inefficiencies. You’re open to mentoring and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others, contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture. Technical Knowledge 3-5 years of experience working in small/startup teams PHP with experience in either Symfony or Laravel (we use Symfony in house) MySQL HTML/CSS Modern JS with experience in Typescript or React a big plus Git AWS Experience with Machine Learning or AI Nice To Haves Data Analytics/BI experience How We Work Working closely with the product/platform team, we help define, implement, test, and release new and improved functionality to the Crowdfunder platform. This requires good communication skills, with the ability to explain solutions, question requirements in a constructive way where necessary, and not hold opinions too firmly. Testing, reviewing, and collaborative coding is a must, not only to break down any knowledge silos but also to grow and improve how we work. In return Salary : From £44k for 30 hours per week (£55k FTE) Location : This is a hybrid remote role, working closely with a team who are mostly based in Cornwall. This role will suit you best if you live in the south of the UK and/or are open to occasional travel. Technical This will be a one-hour video call with Jamie (Head of Engineering) and another member of the team. We’ll ask you to prepare a practical task in advance, which you’ll present and discuss. We’ll then ask you more questions to dig into the technical skills and experience that will set you up for success in this role. Final stage The final stage is where we’ll dive into your strategic thinking and approach to product development. This may involve a task where you review a real-world challenge relevant to Crowdfunder, propose a high-level solution, and outline the steps you’d take to implement it. You’ll present your approach during the interview, and we’ll ask questions that help us understand your reasoning and decision-making process.
