Job Description
Having recently secured a mandate to develop a new range of simulators for the UK Defence industry, an international leader in Defence & Aerospace is looking for a Hardware Engineer to join the Engineering team and play a key role in designing and developing hardware components for relevant systems.
The Role
The Hardware Engineer will work on large-scale programs and play a leading role in the design, development and delivery of hardware engineering solutions within a multi-disciplinary team. In addition to design and development, this role will also cover testing, validation and integration activities.
This position will be focused primarily on defence simulation applications and will require generating and maintaining hardware requirements, creating detailed schematics and packaged designs as well as collaborating with other Engineers and Architects to ensure requirements and standards on assigned projects are met.
Requirements
The skills required for this role are rooted in a blend of Hardware, Mechanical and some Electrical Engineering experience as well as knowledge and application of tools such as DOORS, AutoCAD, Solidworks or Creo.
Knowledge of UK Defence, engineering governance and the engineering lifecycle are key requirements and, given the collaborative nature of this position, excellent communication skills are also sought.
Security Clearance
Possession of (or eligibility and a willingness to obtain) UK Security Clearance (SC) is essential.
Location
West Sussex office with hybrid working available split between office and home-working.
