Job role
To work closely with the production shift manager to organise, manage and maintain the production department/team. Full responsibility of the assembly floor ensuring we meet all Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety targets and Objectives. Drive continuous improvement and improve the working environment.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
1. Promote health & safety in the workplace, constantly displaying excellent standards of personal safety, always monitoring and challenging others when unsafe behaviours are observed this includes identifying/raising H&S potential risks, completing H&S don’t walk by forms and encouraging a safer culture driving employees to abide by the companies guidelines.
2. Manage and monitor team performance using clear meterage/tonnage targets, BI data, Completed machinery output sheets, clarifying individual job roles and training.
3. Set clear targets for each area and set challenging yet achievable goals/objectives for individuals, groups, lines and team as a whole.
4. Carry out 6 monthly team appraisals, support team members with PDP’s (Personal Development Plans) and encourage training/organise courses.
5. Oversee and drive improvement projects, 5S and any other plans deemed necessary. Liaise with Line manager for approval.
6. Ensure products/orders are completed within the delivery date set, document & raise any potential issues which will endear the completion date (Poly, Steel, Labour etc.)
7. Constantly monitor, maintain and improve the housekeeping standards making sure the standard is in accordance with the company guidelines.
8. Carry out daily/weekly team briefings to update on events, targets, safety alerts, Quality alerts/issues and any other key information.
9. Ensure working tools on the assembly floor are of a safe working standard, carry out regular checks, replace when required and maintain.
10. Complete TBT’s (Tool box talks) and update, maintain and monitor the Skills matrix to ensure all employees are trained and safe to carry out the task at hand.
11. Highlight capacity, labour gaps, personnel issues and potential production issues.
12. Instigate training programs and identify skills gaps for direct peers.
13. Drive the ETHOS of Keystone and do not accept poor standards of work in any form.
14. Report back regularly through the line management.
15. Ensure the teams KPI’s and your own are met.
16. Carry out any other task deemed necessary that are within your job capabilities and training.
17. Develop, implement and sustain quality control checks, pre use checks & housekeeping checks.
