Controllers, Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) Core Team, Vice President, London OUR IMPACT
Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted inpliance with the regulationserning transactions in the financial markets.
We're a team of specialists charged with managing the firm's liquidity, capital, and risk, and providing the overall financial control and reporting functions. Whether assessing the creditworthiness of the firm's counterparties, monitoring market risks associated with trading activities, or offering analytical and regulatorypliance support, our work contributes directly to the firm's success. The business is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.
The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analyses of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are inpliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products, and sophisticated technology systems in depth. Direct Hedge Funds, Hedge Funds Strategies, Private Equity Group teams within Controllers support the alternative investments within Goldman Sachs Asset Management division with oversight overplex private funds.
The RRP core team is a small centralized team that is responsible for setting the strategy for, planning, and coordinating the firm's global and local RRP deliverables. The team also has responsibility for running the assurance framework across our RRP capabilities, and is the first point of call for regulatory enquiries relating to RRP globally.
YOUR IMPACT
We are seeking an experienced vice president to focus on the continued development of the firm's RRP assurance framework.
The role holder will be required to design and execute capability tests across the firm's core RRP capabilities which include:
1. Capital
2. Liquidity
3. Payment, Clearing, and Settlement Activities
4. Managing, Identifying, and Valuing Collateral
5. Management Information Systems
6. Shared and Outsourced Services
7. Legal Entity Rationalization and Separability
8. Derivatives and Trading Activities
This role will require strong analytical skills including the ability to review and challenge output provided by capability owners in the context of the tests, and also the ability to produce documentation to meet regulatory submission standards.
The role would be particularly suited to an individual from an operations background, with experience in one or more of the capability areas, or experience in internal audit or a second line review function.
The role holder will be a full member of the RRP core team and in addition to work on the assurance framework, will have the opportunity to participate in the firm's broader recovery and resolution planning efforts.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to participate in an important area of regulatory focus and be involved in developing the firm's thinking and approach to resolvability as its business model continues to evolve.
