This team lead on the commissioning and contracting of statutory and third sector social care provision across Wrexham. Our client is looking for an experienced, skilled individual who can draft a suite of strategy and policy documents - building on from research, national policy and guidance, and stakeholder/social teams’ engagement to inform the strategic direction of the department.

Able to read national guidance /policy /strategy and interpret for local action. Report writing, options papers, briefing.
Advising on procurement strategy
An understanding of commissioning/contracting framework including the Government's key strategies and legislative framework
Experience of developing commissioning strategy
Excellent written communication skills enabling drafting of clear, concise, and informative policies, reports, and committee papers.
Experience of undertaking market analysis to support the implementation of commissioning strategies
Experience of working with Health, the third sector and the independent sector and knowledge of the services they provide and the policies and guidance they work to
have commissioning expertise sufficient to support commissioning strategy development.
Knowledge of data protection and Human Rights Policy
Knowledge Of Key Strategy & Policy Issues Relating to Health & Social Care Relating to Commissioning and Contracting.
Substantial experience in developing and implementing health & safety policy initiatives, including persuading, and influencing people of the key priorities and proposals.
Successful Record in Strategic Policy Development
Thorough knowledge of relevant social care, OT and health legislation, policies, procedures, and best practice guides and how they impact on customers including evidence of its implementation and application.
Understand how government policy/legislation impacts on council strategy and services.
