The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice, and providing exceptional patient care. As a Medical Assistant, you will assist with clinical and administrative tasks, making a significant impact on the overall patient experience.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Performs Triage (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Temperature, Weight, and Height) at each visit
2. Sits down with patient and completes designated areas of EMR
3. Coordinates blood thinner medicines for procedures with cardiologist
4. Coordinates post-op pain medicines with patient’s surgeon
5. Monitors the provider buckets in Athena
6. Willing to travel to other offices, as needed
7. Provides patient information to provider prior to patient evaluation
8. Introduces patient to provider
9. Enters all pertinent patient information and notes in EMR software
10. Scans all applicable patient paperwork and uploads to EMR
11. Prepares Eval Rooms and Procedure Rooms for patient encounters
12. Cleans Eval Rooms and Procedures Rooms post patient encounters
13. Performs patient drug screening
14. Prepares patients for pain procedures
15. Assists provider with Pain Procedures
16. Cares for patients in Recovery
17. Assists patient during check out and to their vehicles
18. Arrives to specified clinic at least 15 minutes before first patient to allow for preparation of work site (if traveling)
19. All other duties assigned including duties performed for affiliates, assigns, lessees, contractors or other third parties
20. All other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities:
1. Exceptional customer service skills
2. Knowledge of Medical Terminology
3. Quickly and accurately type notes into EMR as provider dictates
4. Strong computer and phone skills
5. Establishes and maintain effective working relationships with staff, co-workers, and patients
6. Navigates multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner
7. Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance policies (e.g.; HIPAA)
8. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information
9. Ability to exercise good judgment and positively influence others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency
10. Ability to help lift patients from procedure table to wheelchair and from wheelchair to car
11. Regular and reliable attendance, required
Education & Experience:
1. Medical Assistant experience, preferred
2. Pain Management experience, preferred
3. EMR, KASPER, INSPECT knowledge and experience, preferred
4. If required to travel for company related purposes:
5. Active, valid driver 's license
6. State minimum coverage vehicle insurance
7. Must be able to pass driving history/motor vehicle check upon hire and maintain an acceptable record thereafter
8. Maintain status as an “approved driver” through the HR department, including submitting required documentation before expiration
