Due to significant growth and contract wins, OCU Services, (part of the wider OCU Group) has opportunities for experienced SHEQ/SHE Advisors to be based out of our Borehamwood, Iver or Shinfield offices. The purpose of the role is to provide Health, Safety & Environmental information, advice and training to all levels and departments within the OCU Business, working across a number of Power/ Electrical projects across the business.
Responsibilities
1. Notify any changes in your duties to all others who may be affected by these changes.
2. Ensure strict adherence to the reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerous occurrences as required under RIDDOR, as directed by the SHEQ Manager.
3. Provide specialist advice on the company's safety policy and procedures and compliance with statutory obligations throughout the company.
4. Monitor arrangements to ensure that health and safety standards applied by contractors are satisfactory and in accordance with contractual arrangements, company specifications, policy and procedures.
5. Ensure that site employees work in accordance with the company’s health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures along with those of its Clients.
6. Recommend disciplinary procedures where any member of site supervisory staff fails to discharge their safety responsibilities satisfactorily.
7. Take appropriate action when notified of disregard of safety on site.
8. Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for persons working in or visiting any company operation, site and/or premises.
9. Monitor provision and effectiveness of adequate and existing welfare facilities.
10. Promote the reporting of near misses throughout the company.
11. Work at any site on which the Company operates, as authorised and as determined by the needs of the business. You will not be required to work outside the United Kingdom.
Skills & Experience
1. Experience of working as a SHEQ Advisor within Construction, Utilities, Civil engineering.

Required Qualifications
1. NCRQ level 6 / NVQ level 6 / NEBOSH diploma.
2. Previous experience working in the utilities sector (Power sector preferred).
3. Previous experience working within Live Substations (Desirable).
4. Experience working with management systems and the NERS Accreditation (Desirable).
5. Experience working in DNOs and IDNOs.
6. EUSR or CSCS in General Health and Safety.
7. Proficient in compiling reports.
8. MUST HOLD CURRENT FULL UK DRIVERS LICENSE.
