For the area of Corporate Controlling located in Grimsby, UK, we invite Financial Controlling experts to submit applications for the role of Site Operations Controller.
Main tasks & key accountabilities
The Site Operations Controller will be responsible for preparing Management Accounts, budgets and forecasts, producing monthly management information, providing supporting information for Audit and Tax purposes, and supporting senior leaders in the business to maximise site profits.
* You will prepare monthly management accounts and corporate reporting information, proactively investigating variances and discrepancies, and providing explanations where necessary.
* You will be responsible for the management and processing of the product costing system (IPP), and for the management of SAP FI / CO master data including GL accounts and cost centres
* You will provide support to the site teams, including (but not limited to) making business cases for new products and CAPEX projects, developing and reporting on value creation initiatives, and producing monthly reconciliations and reporting for Sales & Contribution, Stock, Variable costs and department cost
* You will develop reporting tools to provide reliable, timely and accurate cost information to the relevant department head
* You will perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations; prepare budgets and forecasts (including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) and ad-hoc financial, operational & commercial exercises/information/reports; and be accountable for the provision of information for statutory purposes including Audit, Corporation Tax and VAT
* You will conduct regular (at least yearly) checks on finished goods, engineering stores and pulp stock, and produce reconciliations in conjunction with the appropriate departments
* You will ensure that procedures associated with the above responsibilities are in place and up to date; and when necessary, you will deputise for the Head of Finance
Your ideal profile
* You are ideally a CIMA (or equivalent) qualified Accountant; at a minimum, you are AAT qualified and have the intention and capability of becoming CIMA qualified. You have a good understanding of relevant accounting standards
* You are highly numerate and IT literate, and you have strong skills in SAP and MS Excel. Experience with Power BI experience would be an advantage
* You demonstrate high professional standards regarding accuracy, integrity and confidentiality
* You are self motivated, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet reporting deadlines; and you are able to identify, develop and adopt new practices
* You have good communication skills, both verbal and written
