Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Assist in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems.
* Learn and apply technical skills to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
* Support in the installation, calibration, and testing of machinery and equipment.
* Maintain maintenance records and document repairs, installations, and equipment performance.
* Participate in safety meetings and adhere to safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
* Work under the guidance of senior mechanics and technicians to complete assigned tasks.
* Follow work orders and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all machinery operates efficiently.
* Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory and order parts when necessary.
* Perform routine inspections of equipment and machinery to detect potential issues and notify senior mechanics.
