This role will drive the quality management system within SubSea Craft while supporting the Production and Procurement Teams and will have exposure to all areas of the business.
Responsibilities will include:
* Reporting into Operations and supporting the Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing Teams.
* Overseeing and evolving the Integrated Business Management System and Quality Management Systems.
* Scheduling and running internal and external audits, to maintain our ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
* Drive continual improvement to process throughout the business.
* Develop and implement and monitor quality control processes and procedures for manufacturing operations.
* Analyse production non-conformance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Train and support production staff on quality control procedures.
* Have an in depth understanding of the design and manufacturing documentation in order to monitor and ensure that the production processes are implemented correctly.
* Establish and maintain quality standards for supplier materials and components.
* Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
* Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
* Inspect, test and measure materials and components to ensure that the items delivered are to the correct specifications as per the designed items.
* Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and reporting systems.
* Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to address quality-related customer concerns.
* Build and monitor quality issues logging process (Incident and observation reporting system).
* Work with design engineering to establish suitable standards of quality for products in accordance with applicable legislation.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Lead Auditor
* Degree in Quality Management, Engineering or related field or;
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the manufacturing industry, preferably in marine manufacturing.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Proven leadership and team management abilities.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pass information clearly and accurately.
* Ability to meet set deadlines and to understand when problems need to be referred upwards.
* Ability to organise and present information clearly, concisely and accurately.
* Strong leadership, motivational and mediation skills, and the ability to take initiative without guidance.
* Exemplary “internal” and “external” customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
* Adaptable - maintaining established process whilst initiating and driving change and efficiencies.
* Collaborative and proactive / 'can-do’ working style.
Due to our organisational set-up we are looking for a robust individual that is as happy working autonomously as working collaboratively as part of a team.
Location: Portsmouth with some travel to Portland in support of craft operations and Test and Trials periods.
Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.*
