About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Sport to join our Sport, Public Service and Travel department at The Bedford College Group .
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Course Leadership - Act as a Course Lead, prepare, deliver, and assess students on various courses and levels, ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
2. Teaching and Learning - Teach effectively, develop new learning materials, assess students' work, monitor progress, and support individual students through tutorials.
3. Curriculum Development - Contribute to curriculum development, prepare schemes of work, implement vocational opportunities, and participate in marketing activities.
4. College Responsibilities - Attend team management meetings, support group policies, invigilate exams, and participate in open days and key events.
5. Statutory Duties - Promote safeguarding, equality, and health and safety, and engage in continuous training and development.
About you:
6. Qualifications and Experience - Relevant qualification in the subject specialism, Level 5 teaching qualification, excellent knowledge of teaching Sport, and recent FE teaching experience.
7. Skills and Abilities - Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, prioritization, classroom management, numeracy, and IT skills, ability to handle sensitive data, and work both independently and in a team.
8. Values and Attributes - Commitment to college values (Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Health & Safety), attention to detail, and ability to build professional relationships.
9. Professional Development - Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing workload demands, meet deadlines, and travel to all campus locations.
