Job summary The post holder will be expected to provide leadership and support to the paediatric service, delivering outpatient and inpatient care at the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust. The post holder will actively participate with the existing team in developing a comprehensive integrated paediatric cardiology service incorporating the Congenital Heart Disease Standards and Service Main duties of the job The Paediatric Cardiology Service is hosted on the Hull Royal Infirmary site and is currently includes a LTFT PEC and a Neonatologist with cardiac expertise. Link nurses are identified on both the ward and NICU, and a 0.25WTE cardiology link nurse is pending. ACHD local centre was established in August 2018 and is hosted at the Castle Hill Hospital site with outreach clinics and electrophysiologists. We work closely with the Level 1 centre including attendance of MDT and regular outreach clinics as per standards. We are part of an established cardiac network which runs regular educational meetings within the region biannually. We have two Vivid E90 Ultrasound machines for use in outpatients and the neonatal unit. They are linked to a cardiac platform for digital storage and transfer of images. The post holder will contribute to the provision of high quality medical care for congenital cardiac patients requiring both acute and routine care. They will contribute to the smooth running of the cardiology outpatient clinics. They will be expected to support link nurses in their clinical practice and professional development. They will have general paediatric commitment for both outpatient and in-patient care in keeping with the 'Facing the Future' standards of care, set out by RCPCH. They will contribute to out-of-hours on-call rota, including weekend.
