Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a paediatric staff nurse to work within the established Children`s Community Team to provide individualised care for children and babies within the home setting.
Although this post is predominantly working with children that require Parental Nutrition you will also be required to hold a caseload with the community nursing team. We care for a range of medical conditions that require varying interventions and provide a link between home, hospital, school and primary care.
Main duties of the job
To work within the Children's Community Nursing Team and hold a case load of CYP's with complex medical needs
To ensure the care plan from the nutritional team/ family is up to date and followed for the children that require TPN
To commence and disconnect TPN whilst the child is at school as required
To obtain required bloods and organise any IV therapies to ensure the child’s condition is managed correctly.
To work closely and maintain a good working relationship with specialist team at Addenbrookes and the wider multi-disciplinary team
To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team liaising/communicating as necessary and supervising support staff
To maintain Health and Safety of patients and colleagues at all times by complying with all relevant Trust policies.
