Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide excellent customer service on the trade counter, providing advice & product knowledge for all customers, assisting customers in placing orders whilst in-store or over the phone. Actively promoting additional or complementary products to customers, improving the sales value while ensuring customer satisfaction. This role will also include supporting the sales team through administration and generational growth within SIIS Ltd.
This is a sales counter position that is critical for maintaining a steady, streamlined flow of business by addressing customer needs and fostering long-term relationships whilst also building new and flourishing relationships.
Key Accountabilities
* Deliver high quality customer service by engaging with customers to understand their needs and recommend the right product for the job.
* Provide product advice by demonstrating a strong understanding of the products including the technical details, usage and advantages to guide the customer in making informed purchasing decisions.
* Processing sales orders by accurately taking orders, processing transactions and managing customer payments via various methods.
* Effectively collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations, share product knowledge and assist with achieving team sales goals.
* Supporting various roles such as order picking, taking deliveries and administration to ensure timely order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
* Assisting with inventory management, support stocktakes, tracking stock levels and communicate with stores to restock popular or low-stock items.
* Building and maintaining strong and prosperous relationships with existing and new customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.

* Actively contribute feedback on product offerings, customer preference and operational processes to help improve the service needed.

Key Skills and Behaviours
* Excellent understanding of the industry products such as Ironmongery, Power Tools, Adhesives or a willingness to learn these products and market.
* Experience working in a Customer Service environment.
* Experience with phone etiquette, Microsoft packages and bespoke databases.
* Self-motivated and driven individual with experience working well under pressure.
* Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
* Able to identify opportunities and proactively pursue new leads.
* Attention to detail to maintain accuracy and minimise errors
* Communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to colleagues, stakeholders and customers.
* Demonstrates resilience and problem-solving in high-pressure situations

Professional Qualifications
* Maths & English GCSE Desirable
* Previous work in the industry desirable but not essential
Measurement of Competence
* Can effectively demonstrate 2 good examples of customer service experience.
* Can effectively demonstrate 2 good examples of problem solving.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
