The team work on a 2 week on/off rotation with the requirement to be captive on board the tug for the 2 week rotation. Key Areas of Responsibility: Ensure that the Planned Maintenance System is effectively implemented onboard, performing ship’s husbandry and Health & Safety checks, and addressing or reporting any issues as necessary. Act as the safety officer in accordance with the Merchant Shipping (Health and Safety at Work) Regulations 1997. Under the guidance of the relevant Port Manager, ensure the vessel is adequately stored and bunkered. Build and maintain working relationships with office staff, external customers, pilots, port authorities, and agents, and participate in operational meetings as required. Take ownership of the vessel, assuming the Master’s responsibilities if necessary. Manage the crew's day-to-day activities, including organizing rotas and holidays, ensuring adherence to Hours of Rest and Company Policies, providing cover if needed, and supervising and training staff under your control. Perform all duties, including inter-departmental tasks involving both deck and engine roles, in a professional, responsible, and adaptable manner, with the flexibility required to meet current manning and vessel operational needs. Complete mandatory training as required for both company needs and your ongoing professional development. Minimum Requirements STCW II/3 OOW Deck 500GT Near Coastal - Unlimited Preferred Valid ENG1 and STCW Training Certification with at least 6 months until expiry Full UK Driving Licence You must have the right to live and work in the UK to be eligible for this position.
