Must be based within Middlesbrough or the surrounding areas (e.g., Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, Darlington, Sunderland, Durham).
We are recruiting an engaging and proactive Sales Professional for a field sales role to deliver volume and margin growth, converting sales opportunities, managing margins, retaining customers, and the production and fulfilment of local commercial plans. The role will be accountable for the commercial performance and local profitability of the sites mentioned above within their remit, working closely with the operational site lead and the Business Unit.
Field Sales key responsibilities will include:
* Deliver growth and retention by setting objectives and targets for growth and ensuring these are achieved for the business unit in the area.
* Utilise systems and technology to maximize commercial performance and sales efficiency (e.g., new CRM, margin management and pricing tools, and lead identification software).
* Ensure robust retention and growth through the development, completion, and implementation of business plans, with ongoing reviews in coordination with the Business Unit network.
* Manage and improve Business Unit gross margin performance through selective and targeted pricing initiatives.
* Be accountable for Business Unit commercial and profitability performance in your area.
* Achieve targets regarding availability by working with the asset team to ensure clear objectives are met.
* Optimise the Business Unit customer base through managing renegotiations and changes of ownership.
* Ensure key Business Unit customers are contractually secure with new agreements being signed and renewed as required.
* Implement pricing strategies and processes to optimise revenue and margin streams as agreed with the Commercial Effectiveness team.
* Ensure continuous pipeline management through the production and implementation of acquisition opportunities.
To be suitable for the Field Sales role, you must be:
* Able to drive and possess a full driving license.
* Have preferred experience within a Field Sales B2B/B2C role.
* Proven negotiation and selling skills to B2B and B2C customers.
* Experienced in developing, agreeing, and implementing strategic business plans to drive performance.
* Numerate and able to recognise commercial and customer trends in large data sets.
* Possess proven negotiating and customer management skills to enable change.
* Have excellent communication, numerical, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
