Location : Belfast Job Ref : Ref-26584 Salary : £40,000 - £45,000 per Annum Employment : Full-Time Permanent Closing Date : 07 February 2025 12:00 pm Job Description Weev are seeking to appoint a Design Lead for a thriving industry, one that continues to grow exponentially as the attractiveness and government legislation around electric vehicles continues to drive demand for more EVs and EV charging points the across the country. The Design Lead shall lead the production of design drawing packages and support the preparation and delivery of legal drawing packages. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design process for EV infrastructure projects, from concept through to detailed design. - Develop innovative design solutions that meet regulatory standards while considering the feasibility and suitability of the project. - Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry standards, integrating them into the design process. - Assist with the submission of applications which can facilitate the construction of EV infrastructure both on private land and in the public realm. - Review and interpret planning requirements to inform design decisions. - Prepare and submit design documentation for planning approvals. - Conduct design risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks. - Ensure all designs adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices. - Liaise with contractors and other external stakeholders to ensure designs are practical and implementable. - Work closely with in-house legal teams to address compliance issues and contractual obligations. - Collaborate with the sales team to align project designs with customer expectations and market demands. Essential Qualifications / Experience - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. - Proven experience (5 years) in designing infrastructure projects, preferably with a focus on EV or renewable energy systems. - Strong understanding of relevant local, national, and European legislation. - Experience in conducting design risk assessments and implementing health and safety measures. - Experience in liaising with contractors, legal teams, and sales departments. - Proficient in design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
