West Dunbartonshire Council are seeking to recruit an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Exhibitions & Arts Development Lead Officer. The successful candidate will work closely with Arts & Heritage colleagues to focus on raising the profile of West Dunbartonshire's rich arts and heritage offer. This will be achieved through the development and delivery of an innovative, responsive exhibition and arts programme to increase the accessibility of museum, local history and archive collections and actively engage both residents and visitors alike in events and activities that explore the stories of West Dunbartonshire. The successful candidate will join the team at a pivotal time, working towards a newly agreed Arts and Heritage strategy that reflects the ambition of West Dunbartonshire Council to deliver for its residents. The role will be directly involved in the delivery of a new museum in Clydebank and West Dunbartonshire Council's ambitious culture-led Levelling Up Fund project that will see a new combined museum and library facility open on Dumbarton High Street. Success in this role will require experience of leading on exhibition and arts programming and direct hands-on experience of exhibition installation; demonstrable management experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills; a capacity for building and maintaining stakeholder and partner relationships underpinned by a demonstrable and genuine interest in the history and heritage of the local area.
