We currently have an opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse post within our North Manchester Specialist Community Mental Health Teams based in our exciting new and modern base at the Central Park Hub.
Mental health services in Manchester are commencing their journey around Community Transformation, working towards a new community mental health framework vision for a place-based community mental health model.
As part of this new model, we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual with strong clinical skills who is motivated to support the development of our Specialist CMHTs, focusing on monitoring and improving the physical health and wellbeing of our patients, using the PHIT assessment tool, as well as safe and effective administration and delivery of medication interventions.
The successful candidate will be an experienced RMN who will play a key role in the development of a new Physical Health and Medication Management Hub across clinics in our North Manchester SCMHTs.

Main duties of the job
Working in a dedicated pathway within a Specialist Community Mental Health Team, the post holder will deliver on all aspects of physical health care and medication management, including managing depot clinics. The post holder will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse.
The post holder will work closely with the Senior Practitioners for Nursing, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Medical staff and Care Coordinators, and the wider MDT to deliver high quality, safe patient care while promoting parity of esteem.
They will be responsible for the Infection Prevention and control of the physical health clinics. The post holder will demonstrate an attitude that respects and values service users and their carers, holding effective communication skills and working closely with a wide network of services such as GPs, other mental health services, and third sector providers.
This will respect the individuality, values, culture, and religious diversity of clients and colleagues, thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

Education / Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse via the NMC
* Qualified to degree level in Mental Health Nursing
* Willingness to participate in own continuing professional development within this specialist field
* Additional training on blood and ECG interpretation
* Additional training on health promotion
* Additional training on common physical health disorders such as diabetes
* Trained smoking cessation advisor
Experience
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of managing depot clinics
* Experience of delivering a full physical health assessment
* Experience of working independently and managing and prioritising own workload
* Ability to establish good working relationships with a range of providers including GPs
* Ability to participate in Clinical Supervision, both as Supervisee and Supervisor
* Experience of working in dedicated physical health or medicines management roles
Knowledge
* Good knowledge of normal physical health parameters
* Good knowledge of a range of interventions to promote physical health for those suffering from mental health problems
* Good knowledge of the medications used in depot and long-acting injection form along with a good knowledge of the common side effects
* Good knowledge and application of Risk Management
* Good knowledge of Safeguarding Procedures
* Understanding of current national policy and initiatives in relation to enduring mental health issues and substance misuse
Work Related Circumstances
* Ability to undertake visits on a daily basis to service users’ homes, clinical meetings at Trust and Non-Trust venues, and other community venues relating to service user activity
* Prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
