An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Clinical Trials and Cancer Services Pharmacist to join the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex). The successful candidate will be a capable, driven pharmacist with intellectual curiosity who relishes working at the cutting edge of new drug treatments. The successful candidate will be the lead/responsible pharmacist on a portfolio of cancer and non-cancer clinical trials undertaken within UHSussex. They will also contribute to the delivery of a high quality specialist clinical pharmacy service to cancer clinical services. The successful post holder must have previous oncology experience, have experience of electronic prescribing systems, have chemotherapy screening skills and understand the complexities of delivering a pharmacy cancer service across the Trust. They must hold a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The Clinical Trials Pharmacy team at UHSussex operates across Trust sites at Worthing, Chichester and Brighton. The successful candidate will provide a specialised oncology and haematology clinical pharmacy service to inpatient, outpatient and day-case patients, carers, specialist medical and nursing staff, and other relevant HCPs providing services to cancer patients. Physical working base site is negotiable. Additionally, the successful candidate will lead and finalise the set-up of cancer clinical trials, i.e. undertaking pharmacy review and issuing approval, writing and/or checking trial-specific procedures, building/checking trials specific Chemocare prescriptions and worksheets.
