An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Claims Handler to join a reputable Independent Brokerage. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and processing insurance claims, ensuring the highest level of service is provided to clients throughout the claims process. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and a deep understanding of the insurance claims process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Claims Management: Manage and process claims from start to finish, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of each case in accordance with company guidelines and industry regulations.
* Client Support: Provide exceptional service to clients, offering guidance, updates, and clear communication throughout the claims process.
* Liaison with Insurers: Work closely with insurers, adjusters, and third parties to ensure a smooth claims resolution, negotiating settlements and ensuring clients best interests are always represented.
* Document Management: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claims activities, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and properly stored.
* Claims Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations to assess the validity of claims and gather necessary evidence, including speaking with clients, witnesses, and experts.
* Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice to clients on the claims process, policy terms, and coverage limits. Ensure that claims are processed in line with the terms and conditions of the insurance policies.
* Claims Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and ensure that the claims process is handled efficiently and to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
* Compliance: Ensure that all claims are handled in accordance with legal, regulatory, and company standards to maintain the highest level of compliance.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure high standards in claims handling.
Key Requirements:
* Experience: Previous experience in a claims handling or insurance-related role is essential. Experience in both commercial and personal lines is desirable.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance policies, claims procedures, and relevant regulations.
* Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
* Problem-Solving: A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage complex claims situations and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
* Customer-Focused: A client-centric approach, ensuring that the best possible outcome is achieved for clients while maintaining strong relationships.
* Certifications: CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) qualifications or a willingness to work toward achieving them.
* Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance management systems. Familiarity with claims software is a plus.
