Previous HV commissioning experience, with a strong understanding of Protection Automation and Control Systems. Proficient in the use of relevant software packages. Commissioning Engineer Skills: Commission medium voltage (MV) switchgear, transformers (current, voltage, and power), Rogowski coils, protection relays, power quality meters, high-voltage cables, and HMI/supervision systems. Program and test relay I/O, settings, and logic to ensure system functionality and reliability. Review tender, design, construction, and as-built drawings to ensure accurate commissioning records and quality control. Identify critical commissioning requirements and communicate them effectively to all relevant personnel. Conduct discrimination and other electrical studies as required. Develop testing and commissioning procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance with pre-commissioning and other test protocols. Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and site activities, including cold commissioning and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs). Act as a representative on customer sites, liaising with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and third parties to ensure timely and safe project execution. Supervise, witness, and accept or reject pre-commissioning, commissioning, and test procedures on behalf of the client. Review, sign off, and hand over all required documentation, ensuring non-conformances are recorded and reported. Provide input into accident, incident, and non-conformance investigations and customer complaints as necessary. Continuously improve and develop existing systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with company ISO standards.
