What you’ll be doing
1. Provide Electrical Technical support the wider Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Accommodation team. Having a firm grasp of the BT Policy documents and verify conformance of the teams outputs.
2. Manage the plan for the Testing and Inspection of all BT Properties to BS7671, including the initial inspection and any remedial actions.
3. Create and manage the purchase requests for the elected vendors to complete the Inspection and Testing program, tracking completion against good receipt and invoicing.
4. Develop insights into the program to identify cost savings through efficiencies and effective contractor cost control.
5. Create metrics to support the delivery and provide clarity of the program to all levels.
6. Working closely with the M&E Accommodation team to ensure legislative compliance, identifying risks early.
7. To liaise with the Power Engineer and Vendors to ensure a BT presence when testing activities are undertaken.
8. Budget control at programme level
9. Identify best practices on how to manage the programme effectively and efficiently
10. Control electrical record standards for projects, ensuring compliance
11. Prioritise H&S – To have regard for health and safety, his/her job license and skills as agreed with line manager.
12. Delivers work with full regard of H&S aspects. Carries out on-site risk assessments giving careful consideration to any hazards before starting work and as the work progresses.Is comfortable challenging and asking others to display their ID passes when on BT premises.
Skills required
13. Specialist in mechanical and electrical, power & cooling specifically Standby generation and AC infrastructure and its implementation and operation in networks and data centres
14. You will be a qualified to BS7671 18th
15. You will have a solid academic electrical or building services engineering background (BEng, HND, HNC), or the equivalent demonstrable work experience
16. Stakeholder management at all levels- able to present to Senior Manager, Director level for investment cases, performance reviews
17. Able to forge relationships with M&E Accommodation Managers, peers, matrix direct reports and the wider technical community
18. Ability to influence and resolve conflicts of prioritisation within the business
19. Ability to support, coach and develop the team
