Job Introduction
The Business Continuity Manager will support the development of the Business Continuity programme in Handelsbanken plc, working effectively alongside an existing specialist team of BC professionals.
The Business Continuity Manager will be a central point of contact for Business Continuity related queries and core BC activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the annual cycle of Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), Plans, testing and reporting across the entire UK Bank. They will also support providing oversight and governance to ensure good business continuity practice is followed at the Bank.
Main Responsibilities
1. Supporting the completion of all aspects of the annual business continuity lifecycle programme of activities for the business areas they will be responsible for.
2. Proactively contributing to a continual improvement programme, identifying areas within the BC programme to reduce risk and ensure a more effective response to major disruptions.
3. Ensuring new risks are identified and escalated through the correct channels with mitigation measures implemented reducing overall risk.
4. Supporting the reporting requirements to Group and UK Stakeholders.
5. Creating, implementing and maintaining the UK Business Continuity instructions.
6. Maintaining and Quality Assuring all BC documentation.
7. Supporting the delivery of the business continuity training and awareness activities in the Bank.
8. Providing BC SME support to the supplier assurance process and Agreement Owners, ensuring reviews are completed in line with a rolling schedule.
Ideal Candidate
1. An understanding of and/or experience/qualification of Business Continuity Management principles and best practices (e.g. Business Continuity Institute).
2. An overall awareness of business continuity and risk management processes and be competent at analysing data and producing reports. Their responsibilities may grow over time, once they become more familiar with the role.
3. A good understanding of the UK Regulatory requirements relating to Operational Resilience (PS21/3 & PS6/21, SS1/21) and an awareness of the Outsourcing & Third Party Risk Management SS2/21 Supervisory Statements.
4. Supporting Everbridge (emergency notification) administration.
5. Experience Supporting the Exit Planning approach for material suppliers.
6. Previously worked closely with a tech team.
