Salary: £24,598 - £25,183 (open to negotiate depending on experience)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and engaging Office Assistant to join one of our vibrant Primary Schools in Lowestoft for an immediate start until the end of the academic year. As the first point of contact for parents, children, and visitors, you will bring a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude to your work, ensuring that all interactions reflect our values and commitment to excellence.
You will be responsible for managing a variety of administrative tasks, supporting school staff, and providing a welcoming presence in the office. Your ability to multitask, stay organised, and communicate effectively will be key to success in this role.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in education, strong admin skills, and a passion for supporting children and families.
Who will you be working for?
You will be working for a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Lowestoft, with over 450 children. They are dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. As part of their close-knit team, you’ll be integral in ensuring the smooth running of the school office, playing a crucial role in both the day-to-day operations and fostering a positive experience for our children, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reception & Communication: Greet children, parents, and visitors warmly and direct them as needed. Answer phone calls and emails in a professional, helpful manner.
* Administrative Support: Assist with general office duties such as filing, photocopying, data entry, and maintaining student records.
* Parent Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for parents, assisting with queries and ensuring smooth communication between home and school.
* School Events: Support the coordination of school events and activities, including helping with arrangements and communications.
* Student Welfare: Assist with the daily routines and welfare of students, ensuring they are safe, happy, and settled.
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working in an educational setting is essential.
* Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with children, staff, and parents in a friendly and professional manner.
* A people person with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
