The role
As a Driver - Handler you’ll be an important part of a friendly and hardworking Transport Services team, where you can develop your skills while working with a variety of vehicles. Being a team player and having good timekeeping is really important, as you’ll be helping to keep everything running smoothly.
You'll be required to drive and operate a wide range of general and specialist vehicles, from Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV, which include cars, minibuses and coaches), to both rigid and articulated Large Goods Vehicles (LGV). You'll be responsible for making sure RAF personnel, equipment and vehicles get to the right place, safely and on time!
Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:
1. Conduct see-in and see-off procedures.
2. Carry out fuel and oil replenishment on the aircraft.
3. Undertake daily maintenance checks on the company owned aircraft.
4. Carry out pre-use checks and be responsible for minor scheduled maintenance (A Check) on company owned Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Benson. You'll work an average of 40 hours a week on a shift rota. The schedule may change from time to time to meet client needs, so flexibility is key, but we’ll always aim to give as much notice as possible.
Essential experience of the Driver – Handler:
* Knowledge of marshalling in a similar role.
Qualifications for the Driver – Handler:
* A Category B and C driving licence.
* You will be required to meet the CP2/CP3 eye colour vision standard.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
