The Buyer will be responsible for finding and evaluating suppliers, products, and services, and acquiring the most cost-efficient and timely deals without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Assist in developing and implementing a purchasing strategy for the project, in alignment with the Company's business strategy.
* Challenge, enhance and standardise existing procurement practices to ensure conformity of approach, generate economies of scale and deliver better value for money.
* Take responsibility for placing site purchase orders.
* Procure suppliers including negotiating and agreeing contract terms and conditions.
* Cultivate good working relationships with suppliers, using influencing and negotiating skills to secure best value outcomes.
* Carry out regular meetings with all internal and external parties, ensuring any disputes are resolved in a timely fashion.
* Ensure suppliers are following the relevant project requirements, using the relevant standards and contract technical specifications requirements.
* Clarify with suppliers and any other party any uncertainty that may arise concerning the scope of the works and request or approve changes to the scope as necessary.
* Ensure purchase orders are prepared and monitored in accordance with the Contract and Project Quality Management System requirements.
Essential criteria:
* Right to work in the UK
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management / Engineering or equivalent.
AND
* Minimum of 2 years of Procurement/Buyer experience in a similar role.
OR
* Minimum of 7 years of Buyer/Procurement Management experience in a similar role.
In addition to the above:
* Experience of procurement in building projects.
* Excellent influencing and negotiating skills with the capacity to secure best value outcomes.
* Knowledge of procurement procedures and practices, including aspects of negotiation and contract law.
* Proven experience in the development and implementation of procurement and supply chain tools, techniques and practices.
* Ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting demands, assess priorities and proactively work to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
