Senior Drilling Engineer, Norwich
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join our client's Drilling team where you will play a vital role in assisting in the well design process and development of drilling programs for future drilling operations, delivering technically and cost-effective well designs. The successful individual will be critical to the planning and delivery of the drilling plans in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Scope: Maintain technical integrity, assist in design documents, manage contractors, and drive continuous improvement.
2. Planning: Develop drilling programs, coordinate with departments, manage rig moves, and ensure compliance with regulations.
3. Operational: Support Drilling Supervisor, review reports, and prepare meetings.
4. Performance Monitoring: Keep detailed records, track non-productive time (NPT), and prepare end-of-well reports.
5. Equipment: Ensure equipment meets standards and maintain records.
6. Logistics: Manage equipment and services lists, and conduct logistic reviews.
7. Costs: Track daily costs, review forecasts, and manage spending.
Key Requirements Include:
1. Degree (BSc or BEng) in Mechanical Engineering and/or significant experience in well operations.
2. Knowledge of well operations, including drilling, wireline, slickline, cementing, coiled tubing, and completions.
3. Previous experience of well stimulation design and operations is advantageous but not essential.
4. Offshore experience of well operations would be an advantage; North Sea experience preferable.
5. Capability of working with Drilling Software.
6. Have a can-do attitude, able to embrace a new approach to work activities and encourage others in the offshore project team to embrace change.
7. Technical confidence and independence.
8. Good communicator for internal and external relationships.
