Your ability to communicate, remain calm under pressure, and work well in a team is key. Empathy & Patience: The ability to stay patient and positive when working with children who have complex needs and challenging behaviour is essential. Resilience: The role can be challenging at times, but your dedication and ability to persevere will make a huge difference to the children you support. Team Player: You'll work closely with teachers and other support staff, so being able to collaborate effectively is important. A Passion for SEND: A genuine desire to help students overcome barriers to learning and succeed in their education, regardless of the challenges they may face. Key Responsibilities: Supporting Students: Work directly with students with SEND, including those with challenging behaviour, to assist in their learning and personal development. Behaviour Management: Assist in managing challenging behaviours, using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques. Promote Inclusion: Ensure students are included in school activities and help foster positive social interactions with peers. Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement individual learning plans.
