Job Description
The role offers an exciting insight into product development with the opportunity to work on upcoming technologies within the Domestic heating industry.
The successful graduate will be able to develop their science and engineering skills while maintaining a customer focus within a team of experienced product development specialists, carrying out activities to show compliance with standards and internal guidelines such as performance testing, safety evaluations and product improvements using state-of-the-art test equipment. The successful candidate will also have access to the Bosch training platform with a wide-ranging catalogue of business, personal and technical training courses to supplement the practical, experience-based part of this apprenticeship. On completion of the apprenticeship, the successful applicant will be able to drive safe, efficient and agile product development in a complex, ever-changing environment.
Specific tasks include:
* Learn to interpret requirements, produce test plans and complete test work to achieve the project
* timeline.
* Installation and setup of appliances and test equipment to complete experiments.
* Learn to interpret test and experiment results, draw conclusions and suggest improvements.
* Learn how to document results and write test report.
* Assist with technical support for production, quality and ratio initiatives.
* Ensure test equipment inspected on a regular basis and calibrated in line with agreed schedules.
Qualifications
* Science or Engineering qualification to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Has a keen interest in product development with a drive to optimise and improve designs.
* Has a natural curiosity to understand product performance with an ability to interrogate the root causes behind observed technical behaviours.
* The ideal candidate has practical, hands-on experience installing, repairing and/or modifying mechanical or electrical equipment.
* Has the ability to balance between a highly focused and a flexible/agile approach to small and large tasks of varying levels of difficulty.
* Strong team worker with excellent work ethics and ability to communicate clearly across different hierarchies.
* Be able plan their workload to manage their time effectively.
* Interest and experience in using MATLAB/Simulink would be a bonus.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Occasional national and international business travel may be required.

Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Mon – Thurs 08.00 - 17.00 and Fri 08.00 - 16.00 with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break
