Mental Health Support Worker wanted in Slough
A wonderful school in Slough is looking for a Mental Health Support Worker. The school is seeking an individual who is patient, passionate about education, and looking to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. The role would start in January 2025.
What you would do as a Mental Health Support Worker:
The Mental Health Support Worker will primarily support students in the classroom with their mental health. These students have trouble processing and regulating their emotions due to childhood trauma, which causes stress, anxiety, and depression. You will help them process and regulate their emotions while shadowing the class teacher and providing support with general classroom duties. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside like-minded individuals and professionals in the education and mental health field.
The successful Mental Health Support Worker:
The successful candidate will need to be open-minded, resilient, confident, and determined to help others. Flexibility and the ability to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child are essential. Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. A good attitude and a passion for making a difference are most important.
This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to gain valuable experience while being exposed to various teaching methods and techniques to help children with their mental health needs. You will also have the chance to shadow other professionals in the field and explore different specialties.
A good platform for aspiring psychologists, therapists, and counsellors still busy with their studies or individuals looking to gain experience in the classroom.
