Mobile Car Valeting / Detailing Technician
We are the UK's leading mobile valeting and detailing company, offering services to private, corporate, trade, and celebrity clients.
This position is a self-employed role and requires flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
You'll need:
1. A methodical approach
2. A strong attention to detail
3. Excellent customer service skills
4. An interest in cars
5. To be physically fit
6. To be self-motivated - able to work on your own without direct supervision
7. Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
8. Clean valid UK driving licence (25 and over for insurance purposes, but would consider slightly younger for the right applicant)
9. Experience is a major advantage but not essential
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
1. Driving a van in and around the London area
2. Working indoors or outdoors at garages, workshops, or on customer's premises
3. Using high-pressure hoses to clean vehicles
4. Cleaning windows, wheels, door handles, and mirrors
5. Vacuuming and shampooing upholstery and carpets
6. Waxing and polishing surfaces (experience in machine polishing is a major advantage)
7. Applying gels and other finishes to bumpers, trims, and tyres
8. Able to communicate with clients and discuss prices, offers, and services to encourage repeat customers
9. Flexible hours required - working evenings and weekends. Hours may vary depending on bookings.
10. Team player as well as being able to work on your own initiative
Training:
Training is on-the-job and includes procedures for valeting, use of equipment and materials, and the safe handling of chemical cleaners. As a trainee, you'll work with an experienced valet until you are familiar with the routine. Full training will be given.
