Job Title: Estimator Location: London (Office-Based, with occasional visits down in the Southern regions) Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 Reporting To: Commercial Estimating Manager or Managing Director Responsible For: Assistant Estimator Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our client's dynamic team. This role is crucial in generating profitable tenders, ensuring accurate cost estimations, and supporting contract fulfilment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, risk assessment, and contract negotiation, contributing to the company's overall financial success and market position. This position will primarily focus on recladding work. Key Responsibilities: Develop and submit competitive tenders to maximize order pipeline and business growth. Accurately estimate project costs to meet or exceed client requirements. Identify and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks while optimizing gross profit. Ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. Allocate resources effectively within delegated authority. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy in estimating. Lead, manage, and motivate the estimating team to maximize their commercial contributions. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost efficiencies and value engineering. Support the full tender process, from assessment and preparation to final submission. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Assist in the handover of successful tenders to the project team, ensuring seamless contract execution. Conduct cost control reviews and support the achievement of project budget targets. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency in IT applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email. Minimum HNC or HND qualification (preferred). Membership with RICS or CIOB, NVQ Level 4, or a proven track record in estimating. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations. Analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills. Full, clean UK driving license (essential). Effective negotiation and supplier management skills. Experience in industry-standard management practices. Knowledge of asbestos awareness and working at height regulations. Professional, well-presented, and confident in client interactions. Why Join?
