This unique role provides the incumbent with an opportunity to join the Husky Security & Emergency Services (SES) team, providing in-house security services in a high-profile corporate environment.
The incumbent will provide support for daily security operations in Bolton, which will include but not be limited to emergency response, access control, global CCTV and alarm monitoring, fire and life safety audits, global traveler assistance, trade security, customer service, and contractor safety.
Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
* Respond and effectively manage emergency situations on the Bolton Campus including security incidents, medical aid, fire alarms, and spill response.
* Monitor, acknowledge, and initiate response to global alarms and CCTV systems and liaise with global teams for emergency support of our global office locations.
* Effectively manage the issuance of security access badges, parking permits, and employee photos.
* Perform regular patrols of the campus, on foot and/or by vehicle.
* Conduct screening of visitors, conveyances, and packages.
* Enforce and communicate campus policies.
* Professionally represent the Security Team and Husky while regularly interacting with contractors, visitors, customers, and senior management.
* Manage daily Gatehouse operations and respond to incidents with little/no supervision.
Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Solid understanding of access and security-related principles and technology.
* Excellent written/verbal communication skills and experience with report writing.
* Able to work independently and apply good judgment under pressure without direct supervision.
* Good physical condition to participate on the emergency response team.
* Strong understanding of security systems and associated components, and fire panel operation.
* Strong computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and typing skills.
Scheduling and Hours of Work:
* Rotating 8-12 hour shifts required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Additional shifts are assigned as agreed by Husky and the incumbent.
Qualifications:
* Graduate of a Law & Security/Police Foundation program; or post-secondary graduate with a minimum of two years experience in physical security.
* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate, First Responder/EMR level preferred.
* Valid Security Guard License.
* Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
* Use of Force training is an asset.
