Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home Location: NN5 Duston, Northampton Salary: £29,000 - £30,000 (DOE) £50 per sleep-in About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to join a leading Children’s Residential Home in Duston, Northampton. In this key role, you will assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the home, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people. You will work as part of a dedicated team, supporting children aged 8-18 years, and play a vital role in promoting their welfare, education, and development. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of support workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care. Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the home's daily operations and ensuring all regulatory and care standards are met. Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of the children and young people in your care. Attend and participate in statutory meetings, liaising with social workers, families, and other professionals. Contribute to the development of care plans, risk assessments, and reviews for each young person. Manage rotas, ensuring adequate staffing levels and the provision of care at all times. Provide leadership and support to staff, fostering a positive and proactive team culture. Person Specification: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (essential). Significant experience working within a children’s residential care setting. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Must be a manual driver and hold a valid UK driving license.
