Job Details
This role involves leadership & management within our Residential Houses, providing support to children, young people, and young adults. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee all leadership and management tasks, including:
* Provision of supervision
* Oversight of rota
* Attending professional meetings
* Overseeing care plans
* Chairing team meetings
* Financial responsibilities
* Health & safety management
* Medication audits
* Attendance management oversight
The successful candidate will ensure young people are supported by a team that provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Responsibilities also include:
* Providing appropriate levels of supervision and emotional attunement
* Supporting young people to manage risk
* Seeing beyond presenting behaviours and demonstrating compassion and empathy
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation
* Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies
* Upholding safeguarding procedures and ensuring the well-being of all children
* Implementing the principles of the Promise Scotland
* Undertaking quality assurance and meeting regulatory responsibilities
* Promoting physical tasks to create a homely environment
* Upholding professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate
The Person
* Significant experience of working with young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.
* Significant experience of working in a residential childcare environment.
* In-depth understanding of attachment promoting & trauma-informed care.
* Significant experience of leading staff teams within a residential childcare environment.
* Educated to at least SCQF Level 8, which includes HND, SVQ Level 4 (Children & Young People) or Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Masters in Advanced Residential Childcare.
* A full driving licence is preferred, or a willingness to travel throughout Fife using public transport.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
