Role: Social Media & Digital Engagement Coordinator
Grade and Salary: Grade 6, £30,805 - £36,130 per annum (pro-rata)
FTE and working pattern: 0.5 or 0.6 FTE (17.5hrs per week, or 21hrs per week)
Contract: 18 Months Fixed Term
Holiday Entitlement: 33 days annual leave plus 9 buildings closed days (and Christmas Eve when it falls on a weekday) (pro-rata)
Purpose of Role
The post holder will be an excellent digital communicator responsible for shaping and delivering the social media and digital engagement strategy for Panmure House, further strengthening our online communities and identifying opportunities to create new ones.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Create, develop, and edit a wide range of content types for Panmure House’s digital channels and those of the Academic Director, such as the website, partner websites and podcasts.
2. Significantly contribute to and assist in the implementation of Panmure House’s digital content and social media strategy.
3. Work with the Academic Director and the wider team to develop, disseminate and deliver digital content plans for marketing and communication campaigns.
4. Undertake day to day management and monitoring of the PH social media channels.
5. Generate original and engaging written, image-led and video content for a broad range of digital channels ensuring appropriateness for the platform and audience.
6. Measure, analyse and report on the success of PH’s digital activity and communicate results to staff at all levels in the organisation.
7. Identify and implement opportunities to build Panmure House’s online profile and reputation; increase University advocacy through its digital channels and make connections with key influencers.
8. To storyboard, plan, record and edit user-generated video content, including animated/illustrated content and vlogs.
9. To build and maintain relationships with external agencies; delivering content to agreed timelines and specifications.
10. To work in collaboration with communications and marketing colleagues in our Edinburgh, Dubai and Malaysia campuses.
11. To use online social media monitoring systems, Google Analytics, and other appropriate software to evaluate, audit and update content.
12. To exercise rigorous quality control over social media presences and website presences by ensuring that content is on brand, accurate, and up to date.
13. To ensure that all content complies with accessibility guidelines, legal compliance, web standards and usability best practice.
Essential & Desirable Criteria
Essential
1. University Degree or equivalent relevant experience
2. Experience with search engine optimisation, Google Analytics and other analytics tools
3. Experience of working with content management systems
4. Experience and passion for social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok
5. Experience in industry-standard creative tools, in particular photo, audio and video editing software.
6. Excellent levels of competency in written and spoken English; with experience in writing marketing copy
7. Experience of working in a team and leading on own initiative
8. Ability to operate under pressure to strict deadlines and tight budgets
9. Ability to make decisions and prioritise workloads and requests on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
10. Knowledge of industry best practices including content delivery standards and usability
11. Ability to think creatively and to communicate creative ideas to others
Desirable
1. A good eye for visuals, with graphic design and/or photography skills
2. Keen interest in social media platforms, with their finger on the pulse of what inspires youth audiences and the latest technologies/social platforms
3. Experience working with teams internationally or a keenness to learn
4. Video and podcast production and editing experience
5. Ability and willingness to learn new digital skills and capabilities appropriate to your role and how it evolves
6. Understand and adhere to information security practices particularly as it relates to personal or sensitive information
7. Maintain awareness of my own digital wellbeing by being mindful of the length of time spent at a screen and the impact on mental and physical health in using digital technologies.
