Job Description Business Excellence Partner Welcome to the team The Business Excellence Team is an integrated team responsible for maximizing operational performance, driving business process improvement and value realization and developing our people. The team delivers using lean thinking and methodologies, partnering with our Business technology and Value teams to maximize return on digital investments/solutions. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance business processes, improve operational efficiency and ensure alignment with the company’s overall goals and objectives Purpose of the role The Business Excellence Partner will work closely with various functions to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, establishing better practices and promoting a culture of excellence. This role requires the ability to lead cross functionally and globally dispersed teams, with up to 50% travel commitment and an individual who excels in influencing with informal authority. The position reports to the Business Excellence Team lead. Main responsibilities Develop and implement Lean strategies to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and prioritize improvement opportunities. Lead and manage Lean projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and timely delivery. Apply Lean principles and tools to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and enhance productivity. Establish and maintain best practices for business processes, ensuring consistency and standardization across the organization. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of Lean initiatives. Facilitate training and development programs to build Lean capabilities and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Conduct regular assessments to identify opportunities that enhance safety, quality, delivery and productivity, partnering to develop targets and strategies, realizing challenge goals and closing gap. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Your profile A bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field. 10 years of professional experience, including at least 3–5 years in the biopharmaceutical industry. Proven track record in leading change, aligning stakeholders, managing delivery, and translating vision into execution. Experience influencing with informal authority, including coaching senior leaders. Solid experience in portfolio and project management, organizational design, competitive analysis, and performance metrics (e.g., balanced scorecards). Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and meetings, driving alignment and outcomes with both small and large groups. Background in Lean methodologies or other continuous improvement and change management frameworks. Skilled in leading cross-functional and globally dispersed teams, with a natural ability to influence. Comfortable working in complex and evolving environments, identifying challenges and delivering practical solutions. In-depth knowledge of strategic development and execution, paired with operational acumen. A mindset rooted in Lean thinking, always looking for ways to improve and optimize. Demonstrates courage and candor, with the confidence to speak up and challenge when necessary. Collaborative, with a talent for bringing teams together and building consensus across functions.
