Cardinal CG Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing highly diversified tasks in regard to the installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment in the coating facility in accordance with safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes that support the Cardinal Coating Plant.
DUTIES:
* Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installations, and to repair and replace equipment as needed using hand and power tools as well as equipment from the maintenance shop.
* Use knowledge of facility equipment to maintain various parts of the coater and to troubleshoot and repair said equipment (e.g., washer, coater entrance/exits, coater chambers).
* Ability to operate and maintain Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (e.g., forklift, skyjacks, boom lifts, rider pallet jack, RICO platform lifts, and Caterpillar skid steer loader).
* Needs to possess knowledge of the operation and function of various portions of the coater and to identify issues during daily inspections with all equipment.
* Familiarity with water softener system and know how to maintain and refill.
* Ability to perform oil changes using barrel oil drums using a drum dolly.
* Aid and assist during clean-out process.
* Must exhibit flexibility and multi-tasking skills as needs arise with coater problems.
* Must be able to meet deadlines with work orders and various other tasks such as preventative maintenance to equipment throughout the facility.
* Knowledge of confined space and hot work along with various permits and paperwork that must be filled out prior to entering said spaces and performing said work.
* Arc Flash knowledge and training (e.g., Arc Flash PPE).
* Shifts can range from 8 to 12 hours and can reach 16 hours if there is a need.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Must be 18 years of age to apply.
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Any Maintenance/welding or technical classes are a plus.
* Electrical Classes and Schematic skills are preferred but not required.
* Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
* Demonstrate a solid work ethic through diligent effort, good decision making, and functioning as an integral part of a team-based environment.
* Must possess some understanding of basic processes and procedures that go along with the coating process and equipment used in completion of tasks.
* Flexibility in schedule and job duties (may require prioritization of tasks due to unscheduled issues or problems that may arise).
* Organizational and Communication skills are necessary as these skills are essential in the success of our maintenance department.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
* Must be able to grip at least 30 pounds, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance whether it be with another technician or mechanical device (PIV).
* Ability to stand for extended periods of time and walk forward, backwards, sideways on concrete. May walk 6,000 to 10,000 steps per shift.
* Ability to perform elevated work on various lifts and use ladders and steps to access areas of need.
* Multi-tasking skills and flexibility in work schedule to meet various deadlines and needs of the plant.
* Must be able to successfully work in a team-based environment, exhibit collaboration and troubleshooting skills to aid in the completion of tasks.
* Work safely at all times and observe all safety practices and procedures (e.g., LOTO protocol, PPE usage, Arc Flash, and maintain a clean and safe work environment).
