We are looking to recruit a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community team in Northampton. You will be a member of the day service team and assist in providing evidence-based person-centred care for patients in the community, including assessing and understanding the personal care and support needs of patients and providing person-centred care based on the individual need. This role will require you to hold person centred conversations, practice empathetic communication with the person and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner and provide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing. As a Healthcare Assistant, your duties will include monitoring and assisting in maintain patients’ skin integrity and personal hygiene, conducting nutrition assessments, attending to comfort needs to assist with rest/sleep, provide support with mobility, monitor vitals and overall promote and maintain a clean and tidy care environment. What we’re looking for: A minimum of six months of recent care delivery experience in a Health or Social Care Environment providing care and caring for dying patients. National Vocational Qualification Level 2 in Health and Social Care or an acceptable alternative qualification – Preferred not Mandatory Be person-centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them. Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans that meet the complex needs of the person, and those important to them. Thorough understanding of the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual domains of palliative care. Proven understanding the barriers and enablers to good communication and how challenges can be overcome. Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own.
