The Estates department at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance & Water Assistant to join their hard working and dedicated team. You will be part of a reliable and dynamic department looking after all related Estates across 3 sites.
You will be responsible for all relatable water maintenance playing a vital and important role for the Trust.
This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri 08.00am - 16.00pm.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will carry out maintenance work as identified under Maintenance Assistant section.
2. The post holder will carry out flushing on water systems within the retained estate.
3. The post holder will ensure all reports and documentation are completed in compliance with the Department's Workforce planning instructions and Quality Systems.
4. The post holder will comply with Safe Systems of work as operated by the Estates department, together with statutory regulations such as Health & Safety, COSHH etc.
Job responsibilities
1. Carry out designated Maintenance Assistant tasks (if required).
2. Carry out water flushing as required (daily/weekly) in accordance with relevant documentation/method statements.
3. Use relevant tools and test equipment.
4. Assist maintenance technicians and craftsmen as necessary.
5. Utilise Estates documentation to ensure effective and economic use of spares/materials from Estates stores.
6. You must ensure that all works you carry out comply with the Health and Safety at work Act and all current legislation and/or guidance.
7. You must work within the department's evolving ISO9001:2015 Quality System Framework.
8. Carry out internal cleaning to plantrooms, workshops etc as per relevant advice notes.
9. Carry out internal cleaning to sanitaryware fittings.
10. Inspect and clean mechanical extract/input grill in accordance with relevant advice notes.
11. Undertake relocation of goods and/or personnel on a site/cross-site basis using Trust vehicles.
12. You will be required to work in patient areas and required to work off stepladders, extension ladders, scaffolding, powered lifting equipment, utilising safety equipment/man as required (training will be provided).
13. Any other duties deemed appropriate to the post.

Qualifications
* Educated to GSCE level including Maths and English.
* Working towards a recognised trade qualification.
