Job Description
The Qatar Hawk Part M Engineer is responsible to the Airworthiness Records Lead for the delivery of Engineering Logistics Portal (ELP) capability in support of the Qatar Hawk Availability service at RAF Leeming.
The role holder will be responsible for on base management of aircraft equipment, including configuration management, determining the repair location for equipment declared unserviceable and creating and managing work packages for any on-base repairs.
The role holder will be involved in delivery of Maintenance Support Engineering tasks, including support to the authoring and approval of task definitions within the System of Record (IMS).Core Activities
The role is part of the Qatar Hawk Continuing Airworthiness Management Support Services (CAMSS) and is based at RAF Leeming. Line management is provided from the CAMSS team at BAE Systems Samlesbury.
Core Duties
* Carry out Engineering Data Quality checks on inbound equipment and raise Component Work Package tasking on outbound equipment, servicing aircraft bays and suppliers.
* Ensure the configuration of equipment managed within the System of Record is accurate and up to date as it transits through the ELP.
* Against the requirements of the approved Tactical Fleet plan, analyse the maintenance requirements for specific components and resolve any issues to ensure the timely creation of component work packages.
* Work collaboratively with aircraft maintenance bay and ground support equipment technicians and supply chain operatives to ensure effective planning and scheduling of maintenance requirements.
* Develop and maintain the associated work package(s), including the technical instructions, resource and materiel requirements for the individual maintenance activity.
* Authoring and approving of off aircraft task definitions within the aircraft system of record. Ensuring compliance with approved data and the company process. Support on-aircraft maintenance tasking as required.
Key Accountabilities
Knowledge:
* Performance indicators – Ensure the effective provision of Maintenance Tasking & Verification activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any impact on Continuing Airworthiness.
* Completion of activities – Ensure all Maintenance Tasking & Verification activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems.
* Procedure/standards – Comply with the MAI CAM Exposition, its associated procedures and standards and any other Company procedures and standards.
* Safety Management System – Ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all Maintenance Tasking & Verification activities and the means by which risks are mitigated and managed.
* Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.
Requirements
Qualifications/Knowledge
* Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant Technical discipline, or Part 66 Category A qualified, or suitable equivalent.
* Recent in-depth experience, to a level appropriate for the role within a Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness environment, including direct experience of supporting or maintaining fleets of aircraft.
* Knowledge of Hawk AJT aircraft and its associated support equipment or similar.
* Thorough knowledge of interaction between MAOS and DAOS organisations.
* Detailed understanding of Safety and Quality Management.
* Understands the Regulatory Framework and its applicability to the Maintenance Tasking and Verification processes and activities.
* Demonstrate an understanding of Fleet Planning, Maintenance Tasking & Verification and Demand Management.
* Good quantitative and analytical skills and experience.
* Effective, credible communicator with good interpersonal skills.
* Requires product knowledge and a good understanding of the relationship with interfacing / contributory areas.
* Able to analyse and interpret data with a high level of attention to detail.
* Comprehensive understanding of current IT software packages used within the Maintenance Tasking & Verification discipline.

Requirements
Qualifications · Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship · Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. · Experienced and competent leader at this level. · Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior to undertaking a Supervisor role. · Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & recency via a Log Book (electronic or paper) of skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft type or in bays.
