As the Construction Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will support the Head of Construction Safety within the EMEA QHSE Department focusing on Construction works carried out by Data Centre Delivery. The role will be a key part of driving health & safety performance within major projects by continuous inspection and reporting in accordance with the Corporate and Project Safety Management Systems and to a high safety standard. You will report into the Senior Manager Construction Safety and will also be expected to communicate regularly with the Data Center Delivery Management Team. The job holder should be based in UK or Germany and will be expected to frequently travel to construction sites throughout EMEA. What you will do Carry out site inspections to ensure that the highest level of safety is being observed, and in accordance with the corporate and project Safety Management System (SMS) Carry out project audits on site to determine where gaps between performance and standards occur, and what remediation measures are required Monitor risks posed by construction, develop a mitigating plan and working with Head of Construction Safety to implement mitigating measures Support the Head of Construction Safety in driving continuous improvement through performance monitoring, audits and external evaluations Provide functional leadership of incident management on Major Projects Support the selection & evaluation of general contractors of Major Projects as required Support the creation and delivery of internal training programs Carry out enforcement action, including stopping works, when appropriate Collaboratively work with GDC EMEAs Environmental management department to increase awareness and drive environmental management & compliance across construction sites What we are looking for Experienced in construction safety management within major construction projects A qualified HSE Advisor with experience in auditing Experienced in the management & implementation of construction safety functions in continental Europe Fluent in local language and have a good command of English, both written and orally Be process driven, good communicator, both internally and externally Self-motivated and possess an ability to use ones own initiative Health and Safety Management, holding a recognized international safety qualification Creation of safety standards and auditing against established standards Management of staff and external contractors Possess a clean full driving licence Be able to undergo full security checks We look forward to hearing from you About the Global Data Centers division of NTT Ltd.
