We are seeking an administrator in our Medical Education team. This role will have a purpose to undertake administrative activity across the Medical Education Team and support.
CPFT is a major provider of undergraduate and postgraduate psychiatry training. Each financial year the Trust receives approximately £3.5 million to provide medical students and trainee doctors with an educational experience that allows them to fulfill their specific curriculum requirements as set out by the General Medical Council.
The Medical Education team comprises of the Director of Medical Education (DME), Deputy DME, Medical Education Coordinator, Training Programme Director, and specialty-specific Clinical Tutors for postgraduate training and undergraduate training. There are also several resident doctors involved in the design and delivery of teaching and training.
This role involves a mixture of home and office-based working but please note that you must be available to work on-site as and when required.
Main duties of the job
Main duties for the job include supporting with elements of the administration associated with Resident Doctor Induction, course administration, maintaining supplies, submitting requisitions, diarising meetings and supporting with study leave processing amongst other elements outlined below.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1. Serve as the primary point of contact within the Department.
2. Provide general administrative support across various areas of medical education.
3. Assist the Medical Education Coordinator with preparations for Resident Doctor induction and other related tasks.
4. Handle all administrative queries regarding Medical Education courses, including booking courses and rooms, setting up meetings, and ordering refreshments.
5. Travel to different sites within the Trust to support tasks such as requesting IT and clinical system access, producing ID badges, liaising with prospective trainees, arranging speakers, and facilitating inductions.
6. Support the Medical Education Coordinator and the Medical Education team in delivering the Medical Education programme.
7. Provide administrative support to the Director of Medical Education, the Core Psychiatry Training Programme Director, and module leads.
8. Assist with the administration of Resident Doctor Induction to ensure the programme meets Health Education England and CPFT requirements.
9. Collaborate with the Medical Education Team to support the monitoring, evaluation, and development of medical education.
10. Adhere to current legislation and relevant organisational policies and procedures.
Person specification
Education/Qualification
* GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience of working in a busy office environment.
* Work Experience within the NHS.
* Demonstrable office administration experience.
Skills and Ability
* Able to demonstrate commitment to high quality care and service provision.
* Excellent written and oral communication and IT skills.
Knowledge and Understanding
* Excellent word processing skills including knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Word, Excel and Access packages.
* Knowledge of Medical Education / PGME.
