What You'll Do
As the Sales Director of E-Invoicing Sales at Avalara, you will lead a dynamic and specialized sales team focused on the e-invoicing market. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for hiring, coaching and building the newly founded ELR sales team. Your leadership will shape the future of Avalara's presence in the e-invoicing sector.

You will report to the Senior Director of Global Sales. This position is offered on a remote basis with visits to our Brighton office expected on occasion.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
1. Sales Leadership: Execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored specifically to the e-invoicing market. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product development and go-to-market efforts to win new business and support expanding existing customer relationships.
2. Team Building and Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team (both inbound and outbound) of specialists, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support necessary to excel in their roles.
3. Market Expertise: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and regulations related to e-invoicing and transaction taxes. Provide thought leadership to both your team and our clients.
4. Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key clients within the e-invoicing market, serving as a trusted advisor and ensuring their success.
5. Revenue Growth: Set and exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas, driving substantial revenue growth for Avalara within the e-invoicing sector.
6. Collaboration: Foster effective collaboration with internal teams, including Sales Engineers, Product Specialists, and Customer Success, to ensure seamless customer onboarding and exceptional client satisfaction.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* 6+ years experience in a revenue generating role and 6 years in a leadership position.
* Strong experience in the e-invoicing market and related compliance challenges.
* Experience successfully leading and scaling specialized sales organizations in the software or technology sector.
* Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Results-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of driving performance and growth.
* Familiarity with Avalara's products and success traits is a plus.
